Dr. Richard Sendi is a senior researcher at the Urban Planning Institute of the Republic of Slovenia. He specialises in housing issues including, among others: housing policy; social and private rental housing; the management, maintenance and renewal of large housing estates; the operation of housing markets; housing standards and housing quality. He recently headed two different teams of leading housing researchers, who prepared proposals and recommendations for the future development of settlements and for the improvement of housing quality, for the purposes of new structure plans for the Republic of Slovenia and for Ljubljana City. He has worked on several international projects, among them, the World Bank and UNCHS Housing and Urban Development Indicators Project. He is also the author of the Ljubljana Case Study on urban renewal and housing modernisation, commissioned by the ECE Committee on Human Settlements.
