Warsaw, the capital and largest city of Poland, lies on the Wistula River and covers 494.3 square kilometres. It is subdivided in 12 gminas. The population of Warsaw is 1.6 million. Warsaw contains a lot of parks, forests and planting and agricultural land (44.3 per cent of the total area). The agglomeration of Warsaw is the main area in Poland of the localisation of foreign capital. The economy of Warsaw has been changed rapidly during last decade. Now 65 per cent of the jobs are in services, 20 per cent in manufacturing and 5 per cent in agriculture.
