Koper

The town of Koper is located at the south-western tip of Slovenia. With a population of 47,905 (1999) Koper ranks as the fifth largest town in Slovenia. Its location at the Adriatic Coast offers it exceptional transportation advantages.

Through the Port of Koper, the town enjoys an international reputation as an important transportation junction, providing warehousing and freight services to various countries world-wide. Within this context, Koper is expected to play a major role in the future development of the planned South-European transport corridor: Barcelona-Milan-Ljubljana-Budapest and all the way to Kiev.
