Conference organisers:
The conference is organised as part of the RESTATE project. Within this project, 12 research institutes cooperate and conduct their research on 31 estates in 10 different European countries. For a description of the RESTATE project click here:
The conference is organised by the Urban and Regional research centre Utrecht in the Netherlands and the Urban Planning Institute of the Republic of Slovenia. The Urban and Regional research centre Utrecht specialises in urban, regional and economic geography, spatial planning, and the human geography of developing countries. The institute also undertakes research related to cartography and Geographical Information Systems. The institute is part of Utrecht University in the Netherlands.
The Urban Planning Institute of the Republic of Slovenia specialises in research and expert development work in urban and regional planning and related disciplines. In 1993 the Urban Planning Institute became a public research organisation, recognised and partly financed by the Slovene government.
More information on these two institutes is available at: and

Poster presentations:
Participants of the conference in Ljubljana are given the possibility to present a poster. If you are interested in doing so, you are invited to send a proposal to the RESTATE secretariat before January 5, 2005. The organisers will judge the quality of the proposals and will inform those that can present a poster before January 25th. The following information needs to be included in the proposal (half an A4 maximum):
1. Title of the poster
2. Your name(s)
3. Aim of the poster. What do you want to teach the other participants? What kind of knowledge will you give to them?
4. Final remarks/questions
The practical details of the poster (size of the paper, size of the lettering) will be provided later. Please send your proposal to Wednesday 5 January at the latest.
